We know that M&S are the kings when it comes to Christmas Tv adverts (at least for the last few years), but now they are on the Tube to get us interested in what they do. So they have a summit what you do at Christmas video, but they wont let us embed that video on to here,
Want to have an amusing time remembering the technical Christmas presents we were looking to buy back in 1987? Well this video of what may have been on your shoppping list is a scream as it is a genuine news item from back then. If we only knew how shopping would chnage over the following decades, we have though tweice about our hairstyles.
OK how do they do it? Littlewoods advertsing that they still can dleiver good in time for Chistmas, even when the oprder has been placed up to 8.pm on Dec 23rd. This means guaranteed next day delivery, for almost everything. Yet we wait forĀ weeks prior to thir some deliveries, or even days for normal postage. So when the going gets tough it is amzing how good the service can be.It is about time all retailers do this quicj delivery schedule, I am sure sales will go up, to those that can.
We always assune that all retailerrs both online and in bricks and mortar shops are busy over Christmas time. Well for most, this is probably true, but for some this can be a quiet time of year. Shops such as DIY warehouses, will be quieter at Christmas than say Easter period. Of course they still sell things like power tools and christmas trees, but as most people have decided its too late to DIy stuff, just about eveything else is very slow. Products like garrndedning materials, building material, composite doors and even paint, will be very slow until we get the Holiday period out of the way.
Funny enough though, these stores tend to stay open over the holiday period, except for Chistmas day, often open more hours than the supermarkets that are busy. So a mixed oportunity for retailers at this time of year, so great if you sell toys, not so good if you sell composite doors.
We can write all we like about the security aspects of a composite door but unless you can see it for yourself you are unlikley to take the words seriously. In reposnse of this Global Door intend to make a video showing someone entering a real uPVC door that has been fitted for some time on a real home. Then they will do the same with the new composite door, to compare the difference.
There are videos out there that show the weaknesses of a PVC door but you can’t help feel they are staged to get teh ppoint over. IN this case it will be a real door that is on a real home. Of course the home owner will get a new composite door to repace the old UPVC one. We don’t have the video yet but we will publish it here when it is filned, then you alsi can see real results of why composite doors are driving the market at this time.
