Japan isn’t always seen as having the best history in saving sealife but it seems that in at least one instance a penguin has been adopted as a pet in the suburbs of Japan. In fact it is so at home that apparently it goes out and does its own shopping for food. Of course the TV cameras were there to film this extraordinary act which is very well edited. The shopkeeper very nicely helps the penguin with its fish before it heads all the way back home. That is a real home of course not one of those pond things or even the sea.
Teaching a penguin to shop must have taken some time, but I suppose Sea World do this all the time. More interesting than jumping through hoops for a fish reward in front of tourists in Florida.
A bit of humour should not go amiss during these troubled financial times, so lets show someone who knows how to out the fun in shopping. Of course this is Mr. Bean with his funny shopping sketch. Add something’s you should never do in a shop until you have paid for the goods and you end up with a very funny but probably illegal shopping day.
It seems the good weather brought some good news to the high street during April as some left their computers behind and went out shopping. According to the British retail Consortium sales went up like for like 4.6% compared to the same time last year. There was a cautionary note as the rise did not apply to all sectors of retail. Food saw a small drop and so did men’s clothes.
What was not mentioned either, was that Easter was earlier last year, so the traditional impact of garden clean up and spring cleaning may have occurred a bit earlier in the year. The truth is any news that has a positive figure in these times should be good news as growth figures of previous years will take some time to return.
